The most comfortable and easiest way to reach Northern Cyprus is by air. North Cyprus Ercan International Airport is a final destination to more than 90 flights per week during summer season. It is the only airport of the TRNC serving international flights. Unfortunately there are no direct flights to TRNC, North Cyprus. Direct air links exist only with Turkey, where all planes must first touch down before proceeding to Northern Cyprus. Still there is a variety of operators that fly you to Turkey from many European gateways and other international airports in the world.

The alternative air route of how to get to the TRNC is via South Cyprus Larnaca airport or Paphos airport, and then being transported to the North Cyprus across the border which is very straight forward. Airlines to North Cyprus

Prime carriers to the TRNC being Turkish Airlines provide you with scheduled flights to Ercan airport via Turkey from most of the international airports all over the world. Among other flight companies operating between Turkey and North Cyprus are Cyprus Turkish Airlines along with Pegasus Airlines and Atlasjet. The stopover in Turkey usually takes place at one of the following airports: Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Adana, Antalya or other. Generally the stopover lasts about an hour and you do not need to change aircraft. However, when traveling to Northern Cyprus with Turkish Airlines the aircraft is almost always changed. Passengers are to wait in the transit lounge and obtain a boarding pass of their ongoing flight to the Ercan Airport in TRNC. To reach North Cyprus you can opt for charter flights which are also available, at weekends and during public holidays. To enter the TRNC you are not normally required to have a visa, however, if you travel via Turkey, you might need visa to enter Turkey. A Visa is not required when you travel to Northern Cyprus through crossing borders from South Cyprus. Before arranging your flight to North Cyprus, check your status with regard to visas with the nearest Embassy or Office of Representative for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
