Living in North Cyprus

The education system in the Turkish Republic Of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Consists of five main different sectors.
The schooling system in the trnc is loosely based on a similar principal of that of the U.K.

They are applied in the following order:

Pre-school education (nursery), primary
Education, secondary education, further education, and finally informal education.

Pre-school education in North Cyprus

The trnc provides crèches and nurseries for children between the ages 4-6.

Primary education in North Cyprus

Primary education is divided into two stages in the trnc.

Stage one being elementary school designed for children between the ages of 7-12 which is carried out for a period of five years. These five years are compulsory. There is the option of private schooling and state schooling in Northern Cyprus depending on your preference.

Stage two being secondary-junior schooling which is a compulsory process of a period of three years.
