A commission under the presidency of Hasan Kutlu Ince, the chairman of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (TCCoC), visited the Cyprus Turkish-Israeli Tourism and Commerce Representative Office, the Turkish Embassy, the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, the Union of Israeli Producers, the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, and the Kibbutz Union of Industry in the city of Tel-Aviv in Israel.
The Commission of the Chamber of Commerce had business meetings individually with Israeli business people, visited the businesses and had many business connections, and met at the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce with more than 50 Israeli business people, who are influential in the economy of Israel.
The topics of ‘alternative energy’, ‘electric and electronic’, ‘high technology products’, ‘water treatment systems’, ‘watering’, ‘plastic’, ‘construction’, ‘chemical substances’, ‘medicine-cosmetics’, ‘transport’, ‘operating marinas’ , ‘agricultural products-implements’ and ‘pesticides’ were discussed in the individual meetings among the Israeli business people and the business people in the TCCoC commission.
In the visit, the YAGA representative Ozlem Cilsal made a presentation on the investment opportunities in north Cyprus to the Israeli business people. TCCoC Chairman stated that they aimed to evaluate the business opportunities between the countries with the Israel visit.
The Turkish Cypriot business people attach great importance to developing relations and cooperation with the business people in that region said Ince, and stated that they wanted to establish good business relations and partnerships with Israeli firms. He went on to say that geographically Israel is one of the nearest countries to Cyprus and has a good potential of cooperation in many economic areas. He also listed the areas where there could be cooperation when he stated that north Cyprus could import high technology products from Israel and could use the consultancy potential of Israeli firms on agriculture. Ince went on to say that there was a vast tourism potential both among travel agents of the two countries and in the tourism investments which can be made in north Cyprus.
The business relations is developing with Israel, which is our second closest neighbour after Turkey, said Ince and he said that direct sea and air transport should be provided and the charter planes should be put into use in order to establish closer ties between both countries allowing them to develop economic relations.
